A wounded, unconscious first-responder arrives at the ER, needing immediate triage. First, though, s/he must be decontaminated — maybe due to a hazmat spill or an encounter with toxic smoke. As desperately as the hospital staff wants to help the heroic worker, they HAVE to consider their own safety. It’s no good if even more people are harmed or if the patient experiences further injury.
